JPA Joint Planning Approach for river landscape planning and management
Welcome to the site for joint planning. Here you will find information about the Joint Planning Approach, a planning method that is developed in the framework of the European Freude am Fluss project. This planning method offers a menu of principles and tools to assist communities and authorities along rivers or other water related areas. It can be used to guide planning processes but also as a source of inspiration and an analytical tool.
The Joint Planning Approach is distinctive in the "joint" way of planning. Hence, it comprises joint problem analysis, mutual learning, shared visioning, joint inventory of options and so on.
The six steps that form the Joint Planning Approach are:
step 0 Preparations
step 1 Mutual learning
step 2 Shared visioning
step 3 Rules and institutions
step 4 Joint options exploration
step 5 Joint design
step 6 Towards implementation
For more information about these steps, click on the green menu on your left hand. For detailed information on tools and instruments, references, experiences in the three countries who are involved in the JPA development click on the light blue menu.
